Who is responsible for data collection?

Tinyme is a trading name of Jairus Pty Ltd as trustee for Jairus Trust. Tinyme is committed to respecting and taking your privacy seriously. We recognise the trust you are placing in us through your dealings with us and in return we do everything we can to maintain that trust. For your protection, any personal information we collect from you will be used as detailed in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with the Information Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 2020. As required by the Privacy Act 2020, we follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of information which you have given us to prevent unauthorised access.

 

How is information collected?

Tinyme may collect personal information from you when you interact with our website. We have structured our website so that, in general browsing, you can visit the website without identifying yourself or revealing any personal information. While interacting with our site, some operational data is collected automatically from your device and web browser as detailed in the Cookies and Pixels section of this policy.

In order to provide you with the best experience possible and to meet our legal obligations, we may request certain personal information from you when you register online with us, when you sign up for our email newsletter, when you purchase goods from our site, or if you contact our customer service or employees.

Credit card and payment information is not collected by Tinyme, nor retained by Tinyme, and is only managed through the payment processing authority. For your security, all payment transactions are processed automatically by a third party payment gateway and therefore Tinyme does not store nor is party to your personal credit card or bank details. Selecting to save your payment details is done through tokenization and does not provide Tinyme the ability to collect or retain payment information.

 

What do we do with the information we gather?

Any of your personal details will only be used by Tinyme and associated entities and service providers in order to best provide an excellent service to you. Your personal information is primarily used to process and deliver your order(s) and/or maintain your account(s) with us. 

Other purposes we may also use this information include:

  • To fulfil your requests for products and services
  • To contact you regarding your order
  • To provide features and functionality on the website
  • To improve our products and services, and to improve the content and appearance of our website
  • To analyse the use and interactions of the website

Sharing Data

Personal information collected from you will generally only be shared by Tinyme with associated entities for the purposes detailed above. Some specific data may be shared as necessary for business operations with our carefully selected service providers that we engage to ensure we deliver the best possible product and service offering to our customers. Data shared to service providers includes data necessary for the hosting of website data servers, managing shipping and deliveries, enabling marketing communications, and website research and analysis. 

We require any third party entities engaged to maintain confidentiality of your personal information and to take reasonable steps to adhere to the Information Privacy Principles.

Tinyme does not sell or trade your personal information with third parties and it is never disclosed outside the above mentioned situations unless we have your permission or are required by law.

If you provide a review of our product range, we reserve the right to publish part or all of your review together with your name as provided on the review.

 

Management of Personal Data

The data that we collect from you is stored initially on our secure web servers and is later transferred to our own servers located on our premises based in Melbourne, Australia. This transfer is done via a secure encrypted connection using encryption technology that meets or exceeds industry standards. Data is processed only by our staff operating out of our offices.

When you subscribe to our email list some of your personal data will be stored on our email partner’s secure server. By submitting your personal details, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing. Please note that Tinyme takes all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Your information is retained by Tinyme only so long as it is necessary for us to undertake our business obligations and practices outlined in this policy, unless there is a legal obligation for a longer retention period (e.g. order data is retained to comply with applicable tax, sales, and product safety laws).

 

How do I access my personal information?

You may review, change or delete personal information related to your use of our website. To access your information, simply click “Sign In" at the top right hand side of our website. For information requests, please contact our Privacy Officer via privacy@tinyme.co.nz

We will endeavour to ensure that all information we collect, use or disclose about you is accurate, complete and up-to-date. However, you may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Privacy Act 2020. Any access request may be subject to a small fee to meet our costs in providing you with details of the information we hold about you. We will correct any information which was found to be incorrect as promptly as possible.

 

QR Code Labels

All communication between you and the person who has found your property is via mobile calls, text messages or email. 

If you have purchased one of our QR Code Label products, you must register them via our web app to enable a person who has found an item with one of your QR Code Labels to contact you. To do this, you may choose to disclose your first name and either your phone number or e-mail address. 

If you are not a customer of ours but you have found a product with one of our QR Code Label products, you can scan the QR Code to get in touch with one of our customers to let them know that you have found their lost item. To do this, the relevant personal data that you must indicate are possibly your first name, your phone number or your e-mail address.

 

Cookies and Pixels

Tinyme uses cookies and pixels to collect visitor information from all users of our website. Cookies are alphanumeric identifiers that are transferred to your computer's hard drive through your web browser. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual and, for example, make it possible for us to store the contents of your shopping cart until you are ready to check out. They also recognise your browser when you visit and provide you with information about products that interest you. By doing this, we can personalise your return visits and save you time during the checkout. At Tinyme we only wish to send you communications if you want to hear from us.
